Warning: I was stripping wire wrong for years until a foreman pointed it out
I was always scoring the insulation too deep on 12/2 Romex and nicking the copper. He saw me do it on a Reno job last month and asked why I was trying to make my own weak point. How many other little habits are we all doing that are just making more work down the line?

Maybe that nick creates a better bond for the wire nut.

A nick in the wire is a hot spot waiting to happen, not a better connection. That foreman saved you from a future call back. What did he show you to do instead?

Learned that lesson the hard way too, turns out I was basically pre-snapping all my wires.
