Spent $600 on a good thermal imager a few years back. Best money I ever spent.
Used to hunt for hot spots and bad connections with my hands. Or just guess. Found a loose lug on a 400A service that was almost glowing. Thing paid for itself that week. Anyone still using the old methods, or has everyone switched over?

Still using the old guess and touch method? I call that the "is it spicy" test.

Works every time, loganthomas. I've got a spot on my wrist that's basically a spice detector now. Mild stuff just feels warm, but the real hot ones start tingling in under ten seconds. Saves a lot of surprise mouth fires.
