Shoutout to the sparky who wired that new brewery in Portland

Went to check out this new spot called Cascade Brewing in Portland last weekend. Someone did the panel and conduit runs in the brewhouse, and man it was clean. I mean every bend was perfect, no sloppy offsets or zip ties holding conduit. Made me actually stop drinking my beer to just stare at the wall for a minute. Have you guys ever walked into a job and just known the guy who did it before you actually gave a damn?

Gotta give it to whoever did that work, sounds like they actually cared about the craft. But here's the thing that gets me, when you see a job that clean it makes you wonder if the guy before was just lazy or if he was being rushed by the boss. Ive seen both, and a clean install usually means the electrician had enough time to do it right, which is rare. Makes me want to check out Cascade Brewing myself just to see it in person.

Yeah, that's a really good point. I mean, I've seen both sides too, a clean job where the guy took his time really shows, and then you get the one that was clearly just a "get it done" situation. It's frustrating because the guy who cares gets blamed for taking too long, but the one who rushes leaves a mess for the next person. I had a buddy who did some work for a bar once, and the owner was breathing down his neck the whole time, and the final install looked okay from a distance but up close it was a nightmare. So yeah, a shop like Cascade that's letting the electrician do it right is probably a place that values quality, which is rare and worth seeing.

Ugh man don't get me started. I walked into a basement remodel once and the guy before me had literally zip tied the whole panel cover on because he couldn't be bothered to find the screws. Like buddy, it's a 50 cent fix and you just left it hanging there. Meanwhile my own side job at my buddy's garage looks like a rat's nest of conduit because I lost my level halfway through and just eyeballed it. So yeah, I appreciate a clean job because I know exactly how hard it is to not cut corners when nobody is watching.
