Old journey man told me to stop using my impact driver for everything on trim work

I was zipping in outlet boxes with my impact like always and he walked over and said 'you're gonna snap every screw and crack the plastic if you keep that up.' So I switched to a standard drill with the clutch set low and it's way better - has anyone else had to unlearn bad habits from a senior guy on the job?

Yeah switching to a drill with the clutch saved me from snapping screws right into drywall too.
