A homeowner in Phoenix told me to just tape over a loose outlet faceplate
I was there to fix a flickering light, and he said he'd been doing it for months. It made me realize how many people live with small electrical issues because they don't know they're dangerous. What's the most common safety shortcut you've seen a customer try?

Honestly that tape trick is pretty common. People just don't realize how easily a loose outlet can start a fire.

Had a guy using a penny behind a fuse because he kept blowing them. That's a direct short waiting to happen. The metal can weld itself right to the socket.

A penny in a fuse socket is asking for trouble. That thing gets hot and bonds right to the metal. People forget cheap fixes can burn a house down, you know?
