My taping knife snapped clean in half yesterday
Was working on a ceiling patch in a bathroom remodel in Denver and my 10 inch taping knife just broke right at the handle. The metal just gave out after I pressed down on a corner joint. Had to drive 20 mins to Home Depot to grab a new one cause I didn't have a backup. Anyone else had a tool fail on them at the worst possible time?

Hold up, I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. (Sorry, I know you're frustrated). A tool breaking means you were putting way too much force on it, like you were overworking a corner joint when you should've let the mud dry more or used a smaller knife for the detail work.

Had a buddy who snapped a brand new trowel right in half on his first drywall job. He was trying to smooth out a ceiling patch that was already half dry because he didn't want to wait. That handle just went flying across the room. He stood there staring at it for a solid ten seconds like it personally offended him. Total waste of thirty bucks and a trip to the hardware store. So yeah @perez.cole, I get it. Sometimes you're just pushing too hard on a thing that's not cooperating and the tool gives out before your patience does.

Guilty as charged @finley_walker57, guess my drywall skills are not winning any awards today.
