Learned a taping trick from a guy at a jobsite in Portland last month
Ngl I always struggled with inside corners until this old timer showed me to pre-wet the paper tape with a spray bottle before applying mud. Has anyone else tried wetting the tape first or is that just a weird regional thing?

Never really believed the pre-wet trick until I tried it on a bathroom ceiling last summer. Sprayed the tape just enough to dampen it and the mud stuck way better. No more bubbles or wrinkles in the corner. Made the whole process feel smoother and faster too. Been doing it ever since.

Made the whole process feel smoother and faster" is exactly what I noticed too when I tried wetting the tape for the first time. The only thing I'm wondering is how wet exactly we're talking here. Did that old timer tell you to spray it until it's fully soaked so it's dripping a bit, or just a light mist so the paper is damp to the touch? I ask because I've seen guys overdo it and end up with a soggy mess that tears apart when they try to float the mud. Seems like there's a fine line between helpful and ruined tape, and nobody ever explains that part clearly.
