I thought those lightweight drywall panels were just a gimmick for new guys.
A builder in Austin insisted we use them on a big ceiling job last fall, and my back thanked me after day one. The finish took the mud just like the heavy stuff. Anyone else switch over and notice a real difference on long days?

Right? Phoenix845 isn't kidding about the vaulted ceiling workout. Holding up the old heavy stuff all day was brutal on the shoulders. The light stuff just feels like you're cheating, especially on the third trip up the ladder.

Felt the same way until we had to hang a bunch on a vaulted ceiling. The weight difference is no joke when you're holding stuff over your head all day. My crew doesn't complain nearly as much on those jobs now.
