Spent $800 on a fancy cutterhead and it clogged on the first day
Bought one of those new carbide tooth cutterheads for my 12 inch dredge last month after the old one was getting dull. Figured the extra cost would save me time on maintenance, you know? First job in the river near the bridge, hit a patch of roots and it jammed up so bad I had to pull the whole assembly out and spend 3 hours clearing it. My old steel head never did that. Anyone else had luck with these newer cutterheads or should I just stick to the old style?

Read an article saying those carbide teeth are brittle.

Broke two of those teeth on my 10 inch miter saw last month cutting some old oak flooring. Felt like they just crumbled the second they hit a knot in the wood. Spent good money on that blade too, thought I was getting quality but apparently the carbide was a little too hard and brittle.
