Blew a hydraulic line on the Mississippi yesterday - 30 minutes of panic

Was dredging near Baton Rouge when a fitting let go and sprayed oil everywhere. Had to shut down, find the spare, and swap it while the current was pushing the barge sideways. Anyone else keep backups of all the common fittings or just the ones you've actually blown?

I keep spares for every fitting I've ever blown, plus one for the one I haven't blown yet but will.

Oh wow, that actually makes total sense! I was one of those 'wait till it blows' people before.

Why would you waste money storing parts for stuff that hasn't broken yet? @avery366 is just jinxing themselves, that's how you guarantee a blowout. Keep the basics and wait until you actually need something, then deal with it.
