Vent: I was convinced dark mode was a gimmick until I tried it for 3 weeks straight
Look, I've been drafting in AutoCAD since 2012 and always thought dark mode was just for gamers or people who like looking cool. My coworker kept bugging me to switch last month and I finally gave in on a Tuesday. After about 5 days my eye strain went way down and I stopped getting those headaches by 3 pm. The real kicker was when I noticed I could spot line weight issues faster on a dark background. Been using it for 3 weeks now and I'm not going back. Anyone else have a stubborn drafting habit they finally broke?

stopped getting those headaches by 3 pm" is what sold me, never thought a color scheme could fix that.

Yeah "headaches by 3 pm" hit close to home. I work in a shop with fluorescent lights all day and used to get that same dull throb behind my eyes around the same time. Switched my computer to a dark mode with a warm tone, like a sepia kind of thing, and now I don't even think about it. Took maybe a week to get used to the look but the headaches just stopped. It's the blue light that does it, cutting that down made a huge difference for me.
