TIL $40 on a good adjustable chair mat was worth every penny

I used to think any cheap office chair mat would do, but after my cheap one cracked and curled up within 3 months (making it harder to roll around), I finally bought a proper one from a drafting supply store. Has anyone else found that spending a bit more on floor protection actually saves your back and your sanity?

Yeah, the "fighting your chair instead of working" part is dead on. Once the mat starts curling you're wasting energy just trying to roll around, which makes the whole desk setup pointless.

Yeah that sounds about right. The cheap ones start curling and cracking fast, and then you're basically just fighting your chair instead of working.
