Shoutout to the guy who showed me the right way to set a baseline grid

I kept having text look off in my prints for months. My old boss in Tampa just said 'eyeball it'. Then a senior drafter at a meetup last week asked if I was using a 4mm baseline. He pulled up my file and showed me my text was floating at random heights. Said it's why my dimension notes never lined up clean. He fixed it in two minutes and the whole sheet snapped into place. How many of you actually lock your text to a set baseline from the start?

It's a 3mm grid for metric drawings, not 4mm.

Did your teacher also make you use those weird, smelly pens that never worked right?

Wait, are you sure about that? I've always used a 4mm grid for my metric sketches... that's what my old drafting teacher drilled into us. Now I need to go check my standards manual.
