Had a senior drafter tell me my section views were 'cluttered like a junk drawer'

I was working on a set of mechanical plans for a factory in Toledo, and my boss brought in a retired guy to review them. He pointed at one of my section cuts and said it looked like I threw every dimension on there without a plan. I started grouping related dimensions together and using more detail callouts instead. How do you guys keep complex sections clean and easy to read?

My buddy had the same thing happen with his electrical schematics. Honestly, he started using way more layers to separate different systems. Tbh it was a game changer for keeping things from looking like a total mess.

Forget layers, @wendysmith. My guy started color-coding by voltage level instead of system type. Stopped him from frying low-power stuff during testing.
