Found an old blueprint that said I was doing it wrong for 20 years

I was cleaning out my dad's old drafting files last weekend and stumbled across a 1978 blueprint from his first job. Turns out the standard for dimension line spacing back then was 3/8 inch, not the 1/2 inch I've been using since trade school. I called my old instructor to verify and he laughed and said the standard changed in 1982. Has anyone else found an old manual or drawing that completely changed how you work?

Always used the 1/2 inch spacing myself, just assumed that was the standard forever. Hearing that it changed back in 82 makes me rethink a lot of old projects. Might have to dig through some of my own old files and see what other bad habits I picked up.

Oh man, I feel you there. Pretty sure half my "professional" work from the 90s would get laughed out of a modern blueprint review. What other old habits are we all just sitting on thinking they're gospel?
