TIL I've been putting up drywall wrong for like a decade
I mean, I always just screwed it up tight and called it good. Then I saw my buddy in his new place in Tacoma, and his walls were perfectly smooth. He told me he leaves a tiny 1/8 inch gap at the floor for expansion. My mind was blown. Anyone else have a basic thing they were doing totally backwards?

Read that same tip in a forum years ago. Changed my whole finishing game. Makes taping way easier too.
