Question about those magnetic paint additives for tools

Tried one on my drill bits last month. Cost about $25 for a small bottle. You mix it into the paint and it's supposed to hold screws. Did two coats on my garage wall. It works, but only for really light stuff like a single screwdriver. Any heavier tool just slides right off. Kind of a let down for the price. Has anyone found a better way to do a magnetic tool wall?

Those strips only work on steel tools though.

Ive got a magnetic strip in my garage that holds exactly 47 wrenches right now because I bought a 5 pack not paying attention, and honestly I'm too scared to count how many tools are actually on it. My husband keeps adding more and im just waiting for the day it rips off the wall and takes out my kneecaps. At least if it fails itll be a funny story for the ER nurses.

Those magnetic strips for kitchen knives are way stronger than the paint. I stuck a few on a board and they hold my wrenches no problem. Might be a better option for heavier tools.
