Neighbor swore by using dish soap in his paint sprayer... what a mess
My buddy Dave told me to add a squirt of Dawn to my latex paint to help it flow better through my Wagner sprayer, and now I've got bubbles all over my fence that won't pop. Has anyone else run into this trick backfiring on them?

Did Dave happen to mention what kind of dish soap he was using? @paigewood is right, my buddy Carl tried the same thing last summer and his garage door ended up looking like a foam party had hit it. He figured a squirt of the regular blue stuff would be fine but it just made the paint thin out weird and left these little craters everywhere once it dried. Took him two weekends to sand it all down and redo it with just a little bit of water mixed in. I watched him scrape that mess off and swore I'd never try it myself. Just stick to the manufacturer's thinning guide and save the Dawn for the dishes.
