I was sure a cheap paint sprayer would save me a weekend, but it cost me $200 and two extra days

I was painting my garage and thought a $60 paint sprayer from the hardware store would be way faster than rolling. I figured I'd knock it out in an afternoon. The thing clogged every five minutes, sprayed in uneven blobs, and left drips everywhere. I wasted a whole gallon of paint just trying to get it to work right. After three hours of fighting with it, I gave up and had to go back for more paint and rollers. The cleanup alone took another hour. In the end, I spent about $200 extra on wasted paint, the sprayer, and my time. Has anyone found a sprayer under $150 that actually works for a big job, or should I just stick with a roller?

Cheap sprayers are a scam, just roll it.

My friend had the same trouble painting his fence. He ended up agreeing with @lilyt90 and just went back to a roller, said it was less headache in the long run.
