I swear by that cheap Harbor Freight heat gun everyone warns you about
Bought one of those $9.99 heat guns from Harbor Freight last spring for a vinyl wrap job on my kitchen cabinets. Everyone on here said it would catch fire after 5 minutes, but I've used it on 8 projects now and it still works fine. What I learned is that most people who bash it probably never used it on low setting with the right nozzle. Has anyone else had good luck with the cheap stuff from there, or am I just lucky?

I swear by that cheap Harbor Freight heat gun" is exactly how I feel about their torque wrenches honestly. Everyone says they're garbage but I've had mine for like 4 years now and it clicks right on spec every time (I check it against a Snap-on at my buddy's shop). The trick is not buying the absolute bottom tier stuff though, some of it is straight up dangerous like their jack stands that got recalled. But their basic hand tools and things like heat guns are usually fine if you're not a professional using them 8 hours a day. My neighbor uses their $12 angle grinder for cutting fence posts and its been going for 2 years with just a bearing replacement.
