I painted my kitchen cabinets with chalk paint and it was a huge mistake
Everyone online said chalk paint was the easy, no-sand solution. I did two coats on my oak cabinets and it looked great for about a month. Then the paint started chipping near the handles and the finish felt sticky, even after sealing it. I learned that skipping the prep work, even with 'miracle' paint, just sets you up for problems down the road. Has anyone else had chalk paint fail on high-use surfaces like this?

Oh man, that's rough. I think the sticky part might actually be from the sealer, not the chalk paint itself. Some topcoats just don't cure right over it.

So the paint is basically a science experiment gone wrong.
