Driving around my part of town, I can't help but see all the new composite decks going up

I counted five just on my street this past weekend, where a few years ago it was all wood. People seem to prefer the no-paint, no-rot appeal now, which I get. It's a practical change, even if it makes every backyard look a bit samey. Guess the weekend warrior's dream has shifted from building to just not maintaining.

Lol, are you kidding? Wood decks are a total headache to keep up. Composites look great these days and you actually get to use your backyard instead of fixing it all the time.

Try walking on composite in bare feet on a hot day.

Helped a friend tear out his rotten wood deck last summer. He was always staining it but the weather just beat it up anyway. Now he has a composite one and says he'll never go back.
