That free brush pack I ignored for a year turned out to be gold

Found a brush set on a forum back in 2021, figured it was just noise. Tried it last week on a commission and the texture work came out better than anything I'd done before. Anyone else ignore something for ages and then kick yourself after finally using it?

Yeah, I used to think free brush packs were mostly junk too. But I grabbed one from a random DeviantArt post last year and it ended up being the only one I use for linework now. Definitely changed my mind on ignoring community packs.

Yeah, I used to think free brush packs were mostly junk too." That's exactly how I felt until I ran into a problem nobody talks about. Sometimes the big name brush makers focus too much on texture that looks good in ads but falls apart when you zoom in. I found a pack from a small creator that had these weirdly simple angled brushes, and turns out they're perfect for avoiding that jagged pixel look on tablet screens. You never know what experimental stuff someone threw together at 2am that accidentally solves a real workflow issue.

Wait, wasn't that DeviantArt pack from like 2019 though, or am I mixing it up with a different one?
