Serious question, is anyone else's tablet screen protector causing weird color shifts?
Just discovered my $12 matte screen protector is warping all my grayscale values after I uploaded a piece to Instagram and it looked totally washed out compared to my canvas - has anyone else run into this with their drawing tablet setups?

And matte protectors are even worse for tablets because they sit closer to the pixels than a phone screen would, so that texture catches more of the light coming out of the panel itself. You're basically looking at your art through a frosted window, and that's going to mess with any color matching no matter how careful you are with your display settings. If accurate color matters, you're better off with a glossy protector and a good shade hood for glare.

Matte screen protectors are basically tiny sandblasted textures that scatter light, so yeah they murder your grayscale values completely. Your blacks turn into washed out dark grays because the matte layer is physically breaking up the direct light path from the panel. If you're doing serious color work, you basically have to pick between glare reduction and accurate color right now.
