PSA: I used a free brush pack from a random forum and it completely changed my style
So I was messing around last Tuesday, feeling stuck in my usual workflow. I downloaded this free brush set called 'InkFlow' from some artist's blog, thinking it would just be a few basic textures. I slapped one on a new layer over a portrait I was working on, and bam. The way it broke up my clean lines with this gritty, almost watercolor bleed was wild. I ended redoing the whole piece around that one accidental texture, using it for shading and background elements. It pushed me way out of my comfort zone of super clean cel-shading. I learned that sometimes the tool you don't pay for can force the biggest creative jump. Has anyone else had a random freebie totally shift how you approach a piece?

Totally, free brushes force you to adapt.

Forcing you to adapt sounds like a nice way to say they're just a pain to use.
