My entire digital painting file got corrupted right before a big client review. Happened yesterday afternoon, spent 4 hours trying to recover it.

Ugh that's brutal! Had a similar thing happen with a 3D model once, lost a whole day's work. The panic is real.

Had to pull two all-nighters to rebuild it" - that's exactly what I was facing. I used to be one of those people who thought automatic cloud saves were overkill, figured manual saves every hour was enough. But after losing 6 hours of work that night and having to tell my client I needed an extension, I changed my tune completely and now I have three different backup systems running at all times.

Man, that sinking feeling is the worst. I had a huge vector file go bad right before a deadline last month. The program just crashed and saved a zero-byte file. I tried every recovery trick I could find online, but it was completely gone. Had to pull two all-nighters to rebuild it from scratch. Did you have any kind of backup at all, or was it just the one file?
