Just realized a comment on my art page changed how I think about shading
Last month I posted a portrait I spent like 8 hours on. Some random user named PixelPirate42 commented "nice but her left eye is too high". I was annoyed at first but zoomed in and yeah... they were right. I'd been staring at it so long I couldn't see the mistake. Fixed it and the piece looked way better. Made me wonder how many small flaws we all miss because we're too close to our own work.

wait hold on - did you say this person just casually dropped "her left eye is too high" and dipped? that is wild. i had something similar happen with a painting of a cat i did, some guy pointed out the whiskers were all wrong and i nearly deleted my whole account out of embarrassment. but after i fixed it i realized they basically saved me from posting something that looked off forever. it's crazy how one small detail can throw off a whole piece and we're just sitting there blind to it.

lol @the_jason I think you meant "sitting there blind to it" not "sitting right there blind to it" but I get what you're saying. That eye thing is brutal though, one tiny shift and suddenly she looks like a Picasso.
