Dropped $120 on a paid Procreate brush pack and it did nothing my free ones couldn't do

Bought that 'premium ink set' from an artist I follow on Instagram and after three weeks I realized the $4 free brushes from Gumroad have way more texture and saved my sketch workflow - has anyone else been burned by overpriced brush packs?

Oh man, that sucks. I've totally been there with overhyped expensive stuff.

and honestly it feels like the same trick they pull with overpriced kitchen gadgets or "premium" workout gear. you buy this thing thinking it'll unlock some secret level of creativity but really it just makes you feel like you're failing because you didn't use it right. the reality is most free stuff is built by people who actually use the tools every day and know what works. it's like buying a fancy chef knife vs the $10 one that's been in your drawer for years - the expensive one won't magically make you cook better. i've learned the hard way that if a tool can't prove itself within the first week it's probably not worth keeping.
