Can we talk about color grading between portrait shoots

I noticed a huge before and after difference in my skin tones after I switched to a calibrated monitor last month. The shift was night and day. My old screen had a blue tint, so my shadows looked purple. I spent $200 on a basic calibration tool and it fixed that in about 10 minutes. Now I'm wondering if my lighting setup is still off. Has anyone else dealt with false colors from an uncalibrated screen ruining their edits?

But isn't part of the fun learning to work around those quirks though lol

Does it ever feel like we're all just guessing because our tools are lying to us? I mean, I've had the same eye-opening moment with my monitor, and it's scary how much we trust what we see. It reminds me of those cheap store lights that make everything look green or yellow, and you don't even realize your house has that weird tint until you bring something home. It's the same with screens, we just accept the colors because we don't know any better. And then you calibrate once and it's like putting on glasses for the first time, everything is just... clearer. It makes me wonder how many other small things we're blind to every day without even knowing it.
