Walked into a shop in Nashville last week and saw a kid using a scan tool I've never even heard of

Did the kid actually fix something with it or was he just flexing in the checkout aisle? I see guys drop three hundred bucks on tools they'll use once and then brag about owning the brand. Unless it saved him a trip to the dealer, I wouldn't lose sleep over not knowing the name.

You know @the_terry, I used to be one of those guys who thought tool brand flexing was just dumb. I'd see dudes with Snap-On boxes bigger than my first car and roll my eyes hard. But then I watched a kid fix his buddy's lawnmower right there in the parking lot with nothing but a Milwaukee impact and a socket set. It changed my mind because he didn't even brag, he just got the job done in like 15 minutes while everyone else waited. So yeah, some people drop cash just for the name, but for others it's actually about having the right tool when you need it. I still don't know every brand out there either, lol.
