Stalled my tow truck in a McDonald's drive-thru in Akron last week

I was hauling a 15,000 pound excavator on my rollback and tried to creep forward for a McFlurry. The extra weight killed my clutch on a slight incline and I sat there blocking the whole line for 20 minutes while my partner threw cones out. Has anyone else had a light load turn into a nightmare at the dumbest possible spot?

Did you have a chance to bleed the clutch after that or did it just completely let go on you? Ive seen guys burn up clutches on those rollbacks just from the weight of the excavator alone, but that incline in a cramped drive thru sounds like the perfect storm. Were you able to get it into neutral and push it out of the way or did you have to wait for backup?

Wait, you actually saw a guy burn up a clutch on a rollback just from the weight of an excavator? That sounds insane, I thought those trucks were built for that kind of load. No way I didn't get a chance to bleed it, it just straight up let go on that incline. Had to jam it into neutral and pray the brakes held long enough to roll it back down, but there was no way I was pushing it out of that drive thru by myself. Took forever for backup to show up, worst feeling ever just sitting there blocking the whole street.
