Spent $180 on a fancy injector rebuild kit and it totally let me down

Bought a top-of-the-line rebuild kit for a HEUI injector off a 6.0 Powerstroke last month. Figured spending the extra cash would be the safe bet. Got it all together, fired it up, and the damn thing started stuttering like crazy. Turned out the o-rings in the kit were the wrong durometer for the pressure. Had to tear it back down and swap in some standard ones from a different supplier. Cost me 4 hours of labor on a Saturday. Has anyone else had luck with those cheaper all-in-one kits instead?

Yeah "top of the line" and "safe bet" don't usually go together with 6.0 parts.

Yeah that's exactly it @miles_roberts22. I've seen guys drop serious cash on a 6.0 oil cooler kit only to hate themselves later when it still pukes. The machining tolerances are just all over the place on those blocks so even the expensive stuff doesn't always fit right. Kinda a crap shoot no matter what you spend.

Four grand for a bulletproof kit and guys still get stranded. I'm not sure it's that deep though. Most of these horror stories are people bolting junk on and blaming the motor.
