Just used a new ultrasonic injector cleaner on a 6.7 Powerstroke and it came out looking worse than when it went in.
Followed the manual's 30-minute cycle with their branded solution, but now the spray pattern is all over the place, so has anyone else had this happen and know a better cleaning method?

Had this same thing happen with a set of injectors on my buddy's Cummins. Ran them through a 45 minute ultrasonic cycle and they came out with this weird film and a nasty spray pattern. What finally worked was doing a short 10 minute cycle first with just warm water and a splash of simple green to get the loose stuff off, then switching to a proper injector cleaner solution for the full 30 minutes. Made sure to blow them out with compressed air real good between cycles too. The manual's recommended one-and-done approach didn't cut it for mine either. Might be worth trying a two-stage soak, your mileage may vary but it saved me from buying new injectors.

That "worse than when it went in" look might just be all the gunk finally breaking loose.

My old Honda Civic's oil looked like chocolate milk for the first two changes after I bought it. Honestly thought I'd ruined the engine, but it cleared up by the third time. It was just years of sludge working its way out.
