Just realized I've been overtorquing injector hold-down bolts for years, found a crack in a 6.7 Powerstroke block because of it.

Damn, that's a rough way to find out. Seen a few guys do the same thing, just cranking them down thinking tighter is better. Those threads in the aluminum are easy to strip or crack if you go ham. Always worth double checking the service manual, the torque specs are there for a reason.

Torque specs are just suggestions if you enjoy buying new parts.
