Hit 500k miles on my old Cummins and it scared me half to death

Last Tuesday I rolled over 500,000 miles on my 12-valve. Truck still runs like a top, but I started thinking about all the little things I've been ignoring. Oil leaks I just wipe off, alternator that's been whining for 6 months. Any of you guys got a high-mile work truck you're scared to dig into for fear of what you'll find?

Same vibe as my phone battery at 2% that's been fine for a year and I'm too nervous to finally replace it.
