Had a fleet truck crap out on me at 3am on I-80 last spring

I was about 20 miles west of Cheyenne when a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia just shut off. No warning lights, no nothing. Pulled the codes and it was the ECM ground wire that had corroded clean through inside the harness. Ever since that night I always double check the ground points on any rig that comes through from a salty state.

Yeah but it wasn't the ground wire that was the real problem. You had a 2015 Cascadia. Those trucks had a bad batch of engine harness connectors from the factory. The ground wire corrosion was a symptom, not the cause. Water gets in at the connector pins and creeps down the wire. I've seen it on at least a dozen of those model years. You gotta pull the connector apart and clean both sides, not just check the ground point. The corrosion hides inside the insulation.

That's a real pain, sorry you had to deal with it.
