Found a $5 fix for that stupid coolant leak on 6.7 Powerstrokes

I had a 2015 F-450 in my shop last week with a weepy coolant leak at the degas bottle. Customer didn't want to drop $200 on a new bottle from Ford. So I tried replacing just the O-ring on the cap with a #213 from the hardware store. That little rubber ring cost me 5 bucks and it sealed right up. No more leak and the truck's been dry for 3 days of heavy hauling. Anyone else try this hack or have a better cheap fix for these trucks?

Gotta love spending $200 on a plastic bottle when a 5 buck O-ring does the same thing. That's basically the Ford tax right there, they charge you extra just for the privilege of having the blue oval stamped on it. I'd bet half the guys on here could save a fortune just by hitting up the hardware store first before ordering OEM parts. For real though, the day a $5 fix works better than the factory part is the day you know the engineers were sleeping on the job.
