Spent 3 hours making a high contrast mode toggle and nobody on my team wanted to use it
Turns out the real accessibility issue was me not asking the actual users what they needed first, so has anyone else built something that solved a problem nobody had?

Own it, yeah. That high contrast toggle is a great example of the 'build first, ask questions never' trap. I mean, I did the same thing once with a custom search filter for a product catalog. Spent two days adding color tags and keyword logic nobody asked for. Turns out they just wanted a plain text search bar. So much wasted effort.

A buddy of mine once built a whole reporting dashboard for his team that nobody ever looked at. Turns out they just needed a shared spreadsheet, not a full app with graphs.
