Overhead a blind user at the bus stop say he struggles with apps that rely on maps instead of lists and it hit me hard

I had been designing a transit app using a big map view for 3 months and never once thought about how someone using a screen reader would navigate it, so now I'm redoing the whole layout like, what else am I missing here?

Did a friend ever tell you about the time she tried ordering pizza from a map app?

@susanm22 lol I actually did this exact thing once. The app sent me to some random residential address instead of the pizza place. Ended up calling them old school style after that.
