Had a chat with my nephew about his phone settings and it really made me think
He showed me how he bumps up the text size and uses greyscale mode to read better, and I realized I have never once tested my designs on those default settings - has anyone else found stuff breaking when they check their work with accessibility toggles on?

Three years ago I switched my mom's phone to high contrast mode and text zoomed way up and she didn't even notice half her apps looked weird... @riverk82 makes a good point about greyscale not being for reading though, I think a lot of people just mess with settings until something clicks. I checked my own stuff in accessibility mode after that and found buttons way too close together, stuff overlapping, just bad. It's crazy how much we take for granted with default settings, designers really should be testing this stuff more often.

Honestly, I gotta say that greyscale mode isn't really meant for reading better. It's more for people with certain visual sensitivities or to help with screen addiction. Text size bumping is fine but greyscale actually makes it harder to read for most people since you lose all the color contrast that helps your eyes pick out words. Sounds like your nephew figured out a workaround that works for him though.
