Finally figured out focus mode on my screen reader after 2 years of struggle

I've been using a screen reader for about 2 years now and always got annoyed when it would read everything on the page at once. Last week I accidentally hit a key combo and discovered focus mode only reads the stuff I'm actually interacting with on the page. It's made browsing so much faster for me. Has anyone else found weird shortcuts like this that make a big difference?

It's funny how those little discoveries feel like you cracked a secret code. I've noticed the same pattern with so many things in life - we get used to struggling with something the hard way, and then one day you stumble on the right way to do it and wonder why nobody told you sooner. Reminds me of when my wife showed me you can turn the grocery bags inside out to reuse them as produce bags. Simple trick that saves time but you'd never think to try it.
