Contractor just told me high contrast signs are 'ugly' and I lost it

Last week on a job site in Portland, a general contractor told me he wouldn't install the high contrast stair markers I spec'd because they 'ruin the vibe' of the lobby. I had to explain that those markers keep someone with low vision from falling down three flights, and 'vibe' doesn't override safety. How do you all handle pushback from folks who prioritize looks over basic accessibility?

Vibe doesn't keep people from falling down stairs.

Did you ever see someone eat it so bad it made you rethink how you walk down stairs? My buddy Jenna was coming down her front steps holding a coffee mug and this little moss patch by the railing. Her foot hit it and she went airborne, coffee went flying, and she landed on her hip. The mug stayed whole though, landed on the grass. She was fine, just bruised, but I still side-eye any steps with moss now.
