Vent: A senior dev told me my auto layout was garbage
Last Thursday a senior dev at my company hopped on a call and said my Figma file looked like a nightmare. He pointed out I had 50 ungrouped layers with no auto layout at all. I had to rebuild a whole banking app screen from scratch. Took me 6 hours but now everything resizes clean on any breakpoint. Has anyone else had a dev tear apart their file structure and totally change how they work?

Oh man, I had the exact same wake-up call about two years ago. A backend dev pulled my file apart in like 5 minutes and showed me how nothing would ever scale properly. The fix is rough at first but it clicks eventually. My advice is to start every new screen by setting up your frame with auto layout before you drop a single element in there. Get used to padding and spacing controls like they're second nature. Also name your layers something a human can read like "Header Title" instead of "Rectangle 47". It saves you a ton of headaches when you have to hand stuff off or go back and edit later.
