TIL Figma's auto layout saved me from my janky flexbox nightmare last weekend

I had to make a choice between rebuilding my component library with Figma's auto layout or sticking with my old manual spacing approach. I spent like 3 hours on a Friday night redoing a dashboard nav bar with auto layout and it actually worked on the first try. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you should have just used auto layout from the start instead of fighting with pixel-pushing everything?

Right after I cried over my pixel-pushing for three hours first.

Wait, are you saying you cried for 3 hours over pixel pushing? I once spent like 4 hours trying to get a single icon to line up perfectly in a design tool and ended up just rage quitting and going for a walk. It's funny how the smallest details can mess with your head so bad. But hey, at least you got it done right? I find sometimes you just gotta step away and come back with fresh eyes.
