That Figma auto-layout update from 2022 is still underused by most teams I see

I visited a design meetup in Chicago last Thursday and watched 3 senior designers manually spacing elements with shift+drag. Auto-layout has been in Figma for over 2 years now. It took me about 4 hours to convert a 40-screen dashboard into responsive components and I haven't touched that file for spacing since. People talk about speed but then skip the 30 minutes it takes to learn nested auto-layout. Anyone else notice teams just ignoring the built-in tools?

Is it really that big of a deal though? It took you four hours to set up, but most teams are just trying to get the design out the door.
