That client who insisted on Comic Sans for their app icon was actually right

A customer came to me last month begging for a hand-drawn, childish logo and I talked them out of it. I pushed a clean minimal design and they ended up hating it. They went with someone else who gave them exactly what they asked for, and now their download numbers are way up. Has anyone else had a client's bad idea turn out to be a good one?

My buddy Mike spent weeks fighting a client over using bright neon green for their coffee shop branding, but the client went ahead with it anyway and now their Instagram is blowing up with people posting pictures of their neon cups.

Man my buddy's barber tried the same thing with hot pink and now he can't keep the chairs full, crazy how that works out?

Funny how "bad ideas" are just good ideas from another angle... reminds me of my cousin painting his van lime green on a dare.
