Spent 4 hours hunting a Figma auto-layout bug that was just a missing pixel

I was rebuilding a sign-up flow and my buttons kept breaking on resize - it turned out one of my nested frames had a horizontal padding of 0 instead of 8, which killed the whole cascade. After staring at it like an idiot through lunch, I finally found it by turning off auto-layout on each layer one by one. Has anyone else had a tiny typo in their padding values eat up way more time than it should have?

One of my nested frames had a horizontal padding of 0 instead of 8" - that is exactly the kind of thing that got my buddy Steve last month. He was building a card component and spent two hours adjusting spacing on the parent frame before realizing a text layer inside had its own padding set to 2 instead of 16. He told me he almost threw his laptop out the window when he finally found it.

Man that's brutal. I've been there too, wasted an afternoon chasing padding that was hiding one level deeper than I thought.
