Shoutout to the Figma plugin that broke my entire component library at a client presentation last Thursday

I was in a conference room with 12 stakeholders when I tried to show a prototype and the plugin auto-updated and turned all my variants into disconnected frames, so has anyone else had a plugin nuke their file mid-demo?

Oh man, that exact Figma plugin crash happened to me last month during a sprint review with like 8 devs staring at the screen. I had this beautiful auto-layout card component that just exploded into random rectangles when the plugin updated itself mid-demo. My variants were all nested perfectly and then boom, just disconnected frames everywhere. The worst part was I had to sit there and pretend I was "walking through the architecture" while frantically trying to undo everything (which obviously didn't work). Now I keep a screenshot backup of every key screen in a separate file before any meeting, learned that lesson the hard way.

honestly though that sounds like a you problem for not turning off auto updates before a big meeting. i keep my plugins on manual update specifically for this reason, takes two seconds in the settings.
