Found a stat that 87% of designers skip component variants on their first try

Was reading through the Figma Best Practices report they put out last quarter. Turns out almost 9 out of 10 designers don't use variants until at least their third component build. Made me wonder how much time I wasted rebuilding button states over and over. How many times did it take you before variants clicked?

Yeah, it finally clicked when I stopped overthinking it and just built one variant set for buttons.

The moment I just sat down and forced myself to pick a single system and stick with it, everything got way easier. I spent weeks reading about different naming conventions and color scales, but none of that mattered until I actually built something. Once I had a working set of button variants, I could tweak them as I went instead of trying to perfect everything upfront. It's like that old saying about done being better than perfect, it really is true for this stuff.
