Why does nobody talk about how much natural light messes with monitor calibration

I was chatting with a photographer friend last week who said she refuses to work at her desk after 2 PM because the afternoon sun shifts all her greens to yellow and she can't trust anything she edits. It hit different because I've been ignoring the same thing with my design work, just assuming my screen was off. Has anyone else had to rearrange their whole setup around the sun coming through a specific window?

Ha! So your desk doubles as a sundial now.

Wait, WAIT. You're telling me your BOSS just lets the sun pour in and fry your papers like that? I'm still stuck on the idea that someone could lose a whole HOUR of work because their laptop screen turned into a giant mirror. Did he really just shrug it off and not even offer to invest in some decent blinds? That's not just a "sundial," that's a full-on SOLAR PUNISHMENT system, and I can't believe he thinks that's acceptable for a professional workspace.
